I spent a week in Mexico in Summer 1990...
| Crossing the border at Tijuana |
|
| Tijuana is full of American day trippers buying T-shirts... |
I decided to pop down to Mexico City, so I bought a bus ticket at Tijuana.
Then I checked how long the journey was... 42 hours!
The A/C was broken, but that didn't matter too much since the windows were too. As were the seats.
The picture shows the Zocala, looking across at the cathedral. This is the biggest public square in the world after Moscow's Red Square. |
|
| Next to the cathedral, tradesmen gather waiting for business.
The signs they are holding show their trade. |
I'm standing at the top of the Torre Latino America, looking down through Mexico City's smog.
At 162m, it's the tallest tower in Latin America. |
|
| An hour or so north of Mexico City is Teotihuacán - an ancient religious capital of Mexico.
The picture is taken from the top of the Pyramid of the Sun. In the distance is the Pyramid of the Moon with the Avenue of the Dead on the right. |
