We stayed a night at the Jules Undersea Lodge - the world's only underwater hotel. Dinner time

We had to SCUBA dive down the five fathoms (seven meters) to reach it.

Located in Key Largo, Florida, it is an old research facility that was used in the 60's off the coast of Puerto Rico.

This is "topside" - mission control. Topside

Other guests
Entry is via the "moon pool" in the wetroom.

Here are the other two guests arriving.

The other guests were journalists from the Canadian Diver magazine writing an article about the lodge.

Bedroom
The two bedrooms are quite small, with a half-size "double bed" and an extra bunk-bed.

Our "dive" lasted sixteen hours. It's a saturation dive, meaning our bodies have absorbed as much nitrogen as possible for the depth. But since it's not too deep, we didn't require decompression stops on the way up.

Shusheel was really tired the following day, which she put down to the nitrogen.

Here she is outside our bedroom window.
